Singleness seems to be something frowned upon by society, and there is so much pressure put on those who are single to find a partner. This pressure usually comes from the people who are closest to us, and those people are our friends and family. In this era of social media, where we are constantly being bombarded with posts or pictures of "happy" couples, it is so easy to idolize being in a relationship. We tend to idolize being in a relationship so much that we forget that God comes first before anyone else. As believers, God should be our number one priority. The season of singleness is a chance for us to fully connect with God without anyone taking our attention away. I believe that God puts us in a season of singleness for a reason, and sometimes the reason might be to prepare us for the purpose He has for us, or the person He has for us. He might be telling us to wait for His very best, yet we sometimes get so impatient in waiting that we end up finding the wrong people, and making a mess of things. It might seem as though God is delaying in answering our prayers, but we should realize that God has a reason for everything He does, and He knows what we do not know. One thing we must know is that God is never late, He is always right on time. Let us be content in our season of singleness, and in the Lord.
There are people whom God has equipped and called to live a lifetime of singleness. Although this is viewed negatively in today's society, this is actually a blessing because it allows you to devote your life fully to God. Just as Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7 vs 32-45, single people do not have partners who will dividend their full attention and focus on serving the Lord.
Let us enjoy our singleness whether it is for a season, or a lifetime. Do not allow the pressures of society stop you from waiting for what God has in store for your life.
